One of the most righteous albums ever issued on the Philadelphia International label -- a heavy batch of ensemble funk work, done with the same sort of righteous edge as early albums by Earth Wind & Fire, coupled with the guitar driven energy of the Bar-Kays, and some of the Latinized grooves of El Chicano or War! The group features work by a young T Life, more famous for his club work at the end of the 70s -- but on this set, the sound is rough and funky -- almost stoned-out early 70s LA, with a genre-f*cking approach that is especially remarkable given the chart soul sound of Philly International. Includes the track "Get It On", a deep groover with a bluesy guitar running through it, plus "Where Are The Cares of Tomorrow", "Spiritual Sky", and "California Woman".
