Solsoul (bueno, lo mío es patológico), sigo sin ADSL y la q has puesto de muestra ya la tengo, aunque desde no hace muchos años (cuando salió el CD recopilata "Philadelphia Roots, Vol. 2" del sello inglés Jazz - Soul).
Anécdota interesante: en la época en que los hermanos Karl y Roland Chambers tocaban con Kenny Gamble & The Romeos, Karl, el baterista, también tocaba en un grupo de pop-rock llamado Toomorrow liderado por una tal OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN.

P.D.: perdonad el sarcasmo del principio, pero es que la "facción de la parroquia" más proclive a la música disco está como muy influyente últimamente" y, en contrapartida, la facción soulera ha de marcar territorio...jajajaj, de buen rrrrollo, of course!

Y ya que estamos en los primeros años de la gente de Sigma.. he conseguido por aquí un single de una tal "The French Connection" (si si, como la peli). y "curiosamente" tambien data de 1971. A que no sabes quien está detras? Si amigos, VINCENT MONTANA JR. en una de sus primeras aventuras.. antes, recordemos, ya saco un LP llamado Kem-O-Sabe, en el cual Montna firmaba la mitad de los cortes.
Ya lo subiré proximamente, pero me falta un scan en conduciones, aunque eso es lo de menos.

El dato sobre la Olivia, sale en el libreto de la re-edición 2 en 1 "Voyager" + "Time Is Slippin' Away" de Dexter Wansel en Edsel.
No sé cual sería la primera aventura "soulera" de Vincent Montana (recordemos que empezó tocando con varias big bands de grandes del jazz en los 50's), pero aparte de estar involucrado en varias formaciones junto con Bobby Eli y Daryl Hall (de Hall & Oates) en la Electric Indian ("Ke Mo Sabe") y en Landslides, Hiden Cost, Brothers Of Hope y docenas de grupos más, yo lo más antiguo que he visto suyo apareciendo él en los créditos es un single de mediados los 60's, "Potatos Salad" del radiofonista Georgie Woods en el sello Fatback. Debió de ser el primer rap de la historia! (creo haberlo visto en el blog "Funky16corners"...)

I found the "Spiritual Concept" album re-edited on vinyl around 8 years ago (got the PIR logo in the sleeve an the "new", calligraphic style "Epic" logo on the label). Sounds like Credence Cleanwater Revival meets The Dixie Hummingbirds...!
Despite the fact I lives 100 km from Solsoul lives, we can met someday and I can let him some vynils for to burn... if he wants.
