Dee Dee Bridgewater's final Elektra effort represents her most concentrated attempt at a crossover hita collaboration with Philly soul architect Thom Bell, this selftitled set bears all the hallmarks of the postdisco Philadelphia International sound, couching Bridegwater's potent vocals in a series of lush, sophisticated settings. The record's far from unlistenable, but Bridgewater never seems comfortable in this slick, poporiented contexta handful of jazzy ballads allow her to stretch out, but the more uptempo numbers feel strained, and cuts like "Lonely Disco Dancer" have aged no better than such a title would suggest.

2" (Atco)

Perdona tanta disgresión, "em faig yayu".

Salu2

Thanks for the Melvin Link, Hovitos69! I wanted to thank you directly on your own blog, but I cannot enter, since it is for invitees only.
So I thank you here!

And thanks to Solsoul for the Dee Dee Bridgewater LP, which I have not heard yet as I write this.
I will listen to it and then come back to give my opinion.

Thank you already in advance, it looks interesting, and I am already very curious about it!!
