The most awaited moment of the year has finally arrived -we present the forty-fifth volume of our LOUNGE CINEMATICA SERIES: ‘Verso il Sud’!
As has become customary in recent years, we’re kicking off the summer with a new album from the longest-running lounge series in history, LOUNGE CINEMATICA, featuring a new volume with fresh new bossanova, lounge and jazz sounds drawn from the rarest italian library albums of the 1960s and 1970s. We thus continue in the series’ usual vein, seeking out that mediterranean bossa nova sound that only italians knew how to bring to life, many of them on albums that are impossible to find and listen to, or which lie hidden in old trunks that nobody looks at anymore.
With JAVIER DI GRANTI’s usual exquisite musical selection, we are presented with a musical mosaic of 21 truly mind-blowing tracks ranging from melancholy and nostalgia to liveliness and verve. Composers of the calibre of Manuel De Sica, Enzo Minuti, Sergio Ferraresi, Claudio Valle, Giancarlo Charamello, Franco Zauli, Oscar Rocchi and many more feature on this album. Each and every track is taken from library albums -there are no soundtracks, with labels such as Usignolo Edizioni Musicali, Help!, Music Scene, Magma, LGO Music, Gevox, Lord Records, Sibilla and Abramo Allione, amongst others.
I have to confess something to you. I always think it’ll be the last LOUNGE CINEMATICA, as it’s impossible for more good quality tracks to keep coming out after 45 volumes. And you know what? I’m always wrong, as more and more tracks keep appearing; they never end. It’s an infinite treasure (though it isn’t really), but as long as I keep discovering new tracks and enjoying what I do, we’ll continue to have LOUNGE CINEMATICA for a long time to come.
I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this year, as we can see the project is going from strength to strength and is increasingly followed and admired by people all over the world, who appreciate this incredible music as much as, if not more than, I do myself. Thank you all.
The album is now available to stream on the usual digital platforms, as well as for direct download in a package with the session on WAV format (includes a CUE sheet for track separation) and MP3.
Enjoy the best soundtrack summer could offer.
Best wishes,
Javier Di Granti
